Terms of Service

The terms behind every DSL Moving price‑lock quote — cancellation, claims, access, payment.

Your ZIPs go straight to Melissa’s desk at the Camp Washington office — reviewed by a person, never a broker, used only to price your Cincinnati local move.

These are the terms behind every DSL Moving price‑lock quote. They’re short on purpose. Anything not covered here, call (888) 278-9005 — Daniel answers questions on terms personally before the crew is booked.

The written figure

The figure Daniel signs is the figure you pay. It covers crew, truck, fuel, mileage, materials supplied, cargo coverage and worker comp. The figure changes only with your written go‑ahead during the walk‑through, in two cases: inventory bigger than what Trent saw, or access materially different from disclosed.

Deposit and payment

Item Detail
Booking deposit $95, credits to final bill
Refund window Full refund within 72 hours of booking
Balance due On move day, after walk‑through
Accepted Card, ACH, certified check
Not accepted Personal check on move day, cash above $500

Cancellation

Cancel within 72 hours of booking: full deposit refund. Cancel after that window but 7 or more days before the move: deposit credits to a reschedule within 90 days. Cancel inside 24 hours of the move: deposit forfeit (the crew and truck are already staged). Reschedules requested in writing through the contact page.

Access & your obligations

  • Reserve the elevator in advance for apartment moves
  • Clear gate or HOA codes ahead of the crew’s arrival
  • Truck parking at origin and destination (we’ll advise)
  • Active utilities at destination (lights, water, HVAC)
  • Disclose access changes (stairs, long carries) before signing

What we don’t move

Hazardous materials (paint thinner, propane, ammunition), perishables not packed in dry ice, cash and jewelry (carry these yourself), live plants on interstate runs (USDA rules), pets. We’ll flag it on the walk‑through if anything in your inventory falls in this list.

Cash, jewelry, irreplaceable documents: ride with you, not in the truck. DSL Moving policy, no exceptions.

Cargo claims

Released‑value coverage is included at no extra cost (60¢/lb per item under federal rule). Full‑value protection is an upgrade and recommended for high‑value households. Damage claims go in writing to Daniel inside 9 months of delivery; we acknowledge inside 30 days and resolve inside 120, per US‑DOT timelines.

Liability cap

Our liability is capped at the declared valuation of the shipment plus the cost of the move. Indirect, consequential or punitive damages are not covered. Ohio law governs; venue is Hamilton County.

From Daniel’s Desk

One Owner, One Calendar

“I grew up a few streets over in Norwood watching my dad and my grandfather both work moving jobs, then spent eight years learning dispatch and pricing at a regional van line before opening this shop in 2015. The rule I carried over was simple: whatever number goes on the quote is the number that goes on the invoice, and nothing gets added once the truck is loaded. 11 years later that has not changed — I still walk every estimate, sign every figure myself, and every crew at your door is on my own payroll, whether the job is three rooms in Norwood or a long haul out toward Nashville.”

One Call, A Signed Flat Number, Daniel’s Own Countersign

Trent checks the job against the Camp Washington schedule, writes the binding figure on letterhead, and Daniel signs off before it lands back in your inbox — usually within the hour. No hidden fees, ever, and no chase calls if you decide to book elsewhere.
